The Idaho Food Bank Fund

2016 Grant application dates for The Idaho Food Bank Fund are July 1 – August 1.

Each year, thousands of children, families, and senior citizens across Idaho depend on access to free emergency food. The demand for these services remains high throughout Idaho, and the resources of many local nonprofits—which are often volunteer-driven—are stretched to the limit. The Idaho Food Bank Fund gives Idaho taxpayers the opportunity to help these important organizations through a “check-off” donation on their annual taxes. The Fund uses these financial contributions to award grants to local hunger-relief organizations to help them cover vital costs and activities associated with their work.

The Idaho Food Bank Fund was established by the 2009 Legislature as a cooperative effort between three well-respected statewide Idaho nonprofit organizations: The Idaho Foodbank, Community Action Partnership Association of Idaho and Catholic Charities of Idaho. The donation opportunity first appeared on the 2009 Idaho State Income Tax Form 40, which allowed taxpayers to designate a dollar amount for the Fund.

Qualified applicants must be located in Idaho and have 501(c)(3) status, but are not required to have any affiliation with Community Action Partnership of Idaho, Catholic Charities of Idaho or The Idaho Foodbank.

The Idaho Food Bank Fund will accept the next round of grant applications starting  July 1, 2016, and due to the month ending on a Sunday, the deadline is Monday, August 1 at midnight.
